On April 16, 2025, the Cabinet of Mongolia approved a new resolution aimed at boosting coal exports in response to recent market volatility and export slowdowns. The resolution directs key government officials and the National Committee for Port Revival to prioritize the expedited processing of coal shipments sold under long-term contracts with Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC, Mongolia's leading state-owned coal producer.
